Untitled poem by Joshua Stanley

‘I too have
                             lain out,
on Dionysus’ tongue, rolled flat’.

i.
my impersonal
thirst
to be thirsty.

recount the briefest
snatch of a whole:
‘long time’ , ‘long time’

&
the silence is like an echo.

ii.
capacity for
thought us
not a capacity anymore

for infinite
in the
mild

wind.

iii.
part the salt in
holy noun, forceful
than adjective spirit.

move

my chair
